Revlon Sparkle Aplenty with Leopard Accents

Yesterday, when I was wandering the Walgreens by my work, I stumbled upon a full display of Revlon Sparkle Aplenty. I HAD to grab one after seeing a few amazing swatch pictures. I don't post much nail art, so I decided to do two accent nails with Orly Oh Cabana Boy and spruced that up with some leopard print :). Sparkle Aplenty went on smoothly with two coats (although, I had to wait for the first coat to dry completely before applying the second), It had a fairly quick dry time considering the type of polish it is, and wasn't thick at all. This also dried flat and smooth, and you couldn't feel the glitters in it at all.

And, yes, these are my right (dominant) hand photos. For some reason lately I can't keep my nails on my left hand similar lengths and shapes.

Sunlight:) The glitters in Sparkle Aplenty were reflecting the Oh Cabana Boy on the accent nails.

Have you tried this polish? Are you going to now that you've seen it? :)

Today's a Salad Day

SOOOOOOO I went on vacation about two weeks ago, and while I was there, I was doing some eBay bidding on some Lynns :). I happened to *FINALLY* win one, although it wasn't one I was super fond of; that was Salad Days. After putting it on, I've fallen in love with it :).  Salad Days is a green glitter bomb with every shape and size of green glitter, along with some red hexes, chartreuse large hex, orange bars, purple and fuchsia hex and squares, and that's all on first look. Every time I look at this, I se a different glitter that I didn't see at first :). Enough talk, on to the pictures.

Look at that sparkle in the sun :)

Zoya NYFW 2012 Diva Collection

Today I've got the last of the three recent Zoya NYFW collections, The Diva metallics. These are all BEAUTIFUL polishes and I can't decide which I want to keep on first. These all had perfect formulas and went on fully opaque with two coats. Enough talking, let's get to the swatches.

Elisa:  this is a bright metallic crimson that could be fun and sophisticated at the same time.

Suri:  the most amazing metallic purple that flashes blue in the sun *my mom will want this one too*.

Song:  a deep royal blue with some silver shimmer that I could stare at for hours.

Ray:  a metallic forest green that swirls in the light.

FeiFei:  a high sparkle blue with purple, pink, red, gold, and silvery shimmer.

Daul:  a purple sparkle with gold shimmer.

Zoya NYFW 2012 Designer Collection

Today, I've got another of Zoya's NYFW 2012 collections, the Designer collection. The designer collection is a full collection of creams. I'll tell you now, these all went on amazingly and had full coverage with two coats and none are pictured with a top coat.

Rekha: *a blood red cream* This one is nearing the top of my "favorite reds" list, though without base coat, it stained pink EVERYWHERE :O. Rekha is one of the Bibhu Mohapatra custom shades.

Toni: *a dark maroon red cream* Toni is a color that I find a little too dark for my skin tone, but a beautiful color nonetheless.

Monica: *a dark mulberry purple cream* This color is going to be hard to keep in my stash because my mom will probably snatch it :). She loves purples and I know as soon as she sees it she will want it immediately.

Natty: *a smoked navy blue cream* This is a dusty blue -similar to China Glaze First Mate- almost navy and gray mixed together.  This is one of my favorites of this collection.

Evvie: *an evergreen green cream* This was another of the Peter Som custom shades, and I was looking wayyyy forward to swatching it.

Noot: *a charcoal green gray cream* This has got to be one of the hardest colors to photograph. No flash, flash, light box, no light box, and it still doesn't show the true color of this polish. I LOVE the color and wish I could get a better picture of it.

Did you order any from this collection? Any other of my blogger ladies have issues photographing Noot or their mothers snatching Monica?

Zoya NYFW Fall 2012 Gloss Collection

I know they're EVERYWHERE right now, but I *finally* have swatches for the 3 new Zoya collections that just came out. Today, I'm going to show you the smallest of the three: the Gloss sheer jelly collection. I was SUPER excited about these being jellies and am still excited about making some sandwiches with them.

Katherine: *a sheer aubergine jelly gloss* This is almost an eggplant purple with a little brownish added to it. This is a Peter Som custom shade that I'm glad they included in this collection. Honestly, this was the HARDEST jelly polish I've applied. My pictures of this are all 3 coats that I had to let dry completely before applying the next shade *every time I applied a coat over tacky polish it pulled it up and made bald spots*. Nonetheless, this is a beautiful shade that I definitely will wear even with all of my issues with it.

Paloma: *a sheer berry red jelly gloss* This is my FAVORITE from the Gloss collection. It turned out almost a hot pink against my skin tone.  This was a breeze to apply *only two coats, and didn't have to wait for it to completely dry in between*

Frida: * a sheer teal blue jelly gloss* This looks almost black or navy in the bottle and is surprisingly light when applied. I didn't have any problems with this and applied well with two coats. This is the jelly sister of Wednesday :)

How do you like these jellies? Did you order any?

*these were sent to me for review in exchange for my honest opinion*

I'll have the Breakfast Combo No.1, Please. (pic heavy)

Today, I have not just one, but TWO awesome indie polishes for you to see :). This duo is from Tough as Nails Lacquer (you can buy her awesomeness HERE!!) and consists of two breakfast themed polishes. Go Sit on a Egg (improper grammar was purposeful) is a milky yellow jelly with different sized gold, yellow, and orange hex glitters. The Baconian Method is a glitter top coat made up of brown, orange, red, black, white glitters in both hex and bar shapes. These two polishes are an amazing pair that can be layered over white for opacity or alone for  squishy glittery jelly awesomeness. I layered The Baconian Method over Go Sit on a Egg on my nail wheel and it was amaze balls! Enough talk, let's get to the polish :)
I think I'm in love with the square bottles her polish comes in :)

I absolutely LOVE her labels that wrap around the front and side of the bottle.

and this has tone my FAVORITE picture of this combo.

And again, you can buy this duo HERE!!

Take It Off! My favorite removal method.

Ok, so I was browsing pinterest the other day and found this odd looking nail polish removal method and decided to try it out. I've tweaked it a little, and that's how I do it. For today's removal I'm only using ONE -yes I said ONE- mini cotton ball. I've been using the little cottons that come packed up in Cult Nails boxes with those cute burritos. This method even works wonderful on glitters *I like it better than the foil method*

Step 1: Grab a cotton ball -like I said up there ^^, I'm only using ONE of these minis pictured.

Step 2: Unroll the cotton ball -I stick my finger in the middle and push it out that way, and it unrolls easily.

Step 3: Split your cotton in half -this step makes your cotton cover more area

Step 4: Break your two cotton strips into small pieces -Yes, you only have 10 fingers, but try to get at least 12 pieces *two bigger ones to save for later*

Step 5: Dip a cotton piece into some remover -It's easiest to pour some into a small dappen dish *I'm using OPI expert touch*

Step 6: Pat your little wet piece of cotton down onto your nail -I do one hand at at time- and wait about a minute or two.

Step 7: When your cotton no longer looks wet, it's time to remove it

Step 8: Use one of your extra cotton pieces -sometimes I put remover on it to help- to wipe off the dry cotton (photo on left). If there's any left over, use that same piece dipped in your remover to get the excess bits off (photo on right).

And, that's all! This ^^ is what my cotton ball looked like after I was finished cleaning everything off. The first time I used this method, I couldn't believe I had only used ONE *mini* cotton ball.

Have you tried this method? What do you think? *comment below*
